More About Us

As beloved sons and daughters of the most high God we have been given the entire world to do with it what we want. What an amazing gift! A walk outside on a beautiful day, a hug from a loved one, the loyal love of a family pet, a conversation with a dear friend, a wonderful meal, sacred time in our church, in adoration, in prayer and the gift of the Eucharist – all beautiful gifts from God. And to think, we did nothing to deserve or earn any of these gifts, they were freely given to us. Read more

Ask and it is given. How many times have we heard such sentiment in modern day philosophies and books? Countless individuals have undoubtedly filled their homes with notes full of positive affirmations with their petitions to the “universe”… Notes stuffed in drawers, on mirrors, in cupboards – anywhere one could find to stick their laundry list of requests. Creative boards with pictures of requests and dreams find their way into homes and offices. If we only ask and believe, we will be given whatever our heart desires. Maybe it’s romance, a new body, a beautiful home, a dream job, or a dream life that is sought and desired. The “universe” is at our disposal – ready, willing and able to give us whatever we ask of it if we only submit our petition and believe. Read more

It is not good for the man to be alone – Genesis 2:18. Oh many the love song that has echoed this very sentiment. Together in the garden God and Adam were busy working. God creating things out of the dirt and Adam naming them. All the while searching for “the one”. It must have been a wonderful site to behold. Real male bonding! While we have to assume that Adam was having a jolly ole time there playing in the dirt with God, his heart still ached for his perfect mate. Read more

Ahhhh… the gentleness of Christ that greets us when we only say yes to him. Unlike our Jewish forefathers, we Christians are welcomed by a most loving and forgiving God. In today’s Letter to the Hebrews (12:18-19, 21-24) we witness the trembling experienced by Moses as he approached God. And while this too is our God, God came to us as Jesus Christ with a welcoming message of gentle love. Yes, we are also invited to experience the “fear of God” that Moses caught a glimpse of; however, we are introduced to the loving side of our heavenly father by his grace. Read more

DaddyAs human beings God created us with basic human needs; needs for shelter, clothing and food. Of course, why he created us so is beyond our comprehension. Yet we know, as he provides for the birds of the sky he will provide at even greater measure for us, his beloved children. It is important to appreciate the fact that when we address our physical needs we can more freely serve him and allow him to work through us. After all, our body is not our own – it has been purchased at a cost. Read More
